My old veneers are discoloured. What can I do?

Porcelain veneers cannot stain or discolour. Porcelain veneers are glazed in a dental furnace to a temperature of up to 900 degrees Celcuis. This ‘bake’ is the reason why porcelain is colour fast.

If your veneers are yellow, it could mean that you had resin veneers and not porcelain or the cement under the veneers are discoloured. Some of the older cements were not colour stable and over time they could change colour or became yellow.

You should make an appointment to come and see me for a consultation to have your veneers evaluated. Please contact our reception on 021 557 34 27 to book this now.
