Don’t Be Tricked by Advertising

If you really want to give your baby a head start in life by improving their social standing and guaranteeing their happiness, start feeding them Coca-Cola, Pepsi and other sugary carbonated beverages at the earliest age possible. Even babies as young as a few months old will enjoy the many benefits of soda pop.

Sound bizarre? That’s the message the Soda Pop Board of America promoted back in the 1950’s. Here’s the actual text from a full-page ad:

"For a better start in life, Start COLA earlier! How soon is too soon?
Not soon enough. Laboratory tests over the last few years have proven that babies who start drinking soda during that early formative period have a much higher chance of gaining acceptance and “fitting in” during those awkward pre-teen and teen years. So, do yourself a favor. Do your child a favor. Start them on a strict regimen of sodas and other sugary carbonated beverages right now, for a lifetime of guaranteed happiness."
– Promotes Active Lifestyle! – Boosts Personality! – Gives body essential sugars!

Did you notice that the Soda Pop Board of America somehow neglected to tell parents that feeding their babies sugary carbonated beverages may result in:

  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Loss of bone density
  • Dental Cavities
  • Nutritional deficiencies… and these “side effects” of consuming soda pop are mysteriously never mentioned.

Despite all the other health "side-effects" that soda pops can cause us, the most important one is certainly Dental Cavities.Today we all know better, but we are still seeing an alarming high number of tooth decay in children's teeth! Any sugary content that is given to baby in the bottle and worst at night time, creates a devastating decaying effect on babies' front teeth that often leads to removal of teeth.

REMEMBER: Don't fall for false advertising and educate yourself towards better health! And lose the COLA!
