Closing Gaps with Composite
Another useful application is the closure of gaps (diastemas) between front teeth with composite. Most of the time NO local anesthetic is needed and existing enamel is left untouched. Many patients have gaps between their front teeth and are unaware of just how easy it is to create an amazing smile!
How Does It Work?
The teeth adjacent to the gap(diastema) are made wider by adding composite to the sides of these teeth. Depending on the diameter and relationship to the other teeth and face, this additive effect can still fit in the golden proportion and create a well balanced smile.
As in the photo, the gap (diastema) was closed in just 1 visit!
